Have you seen a difference in Home Depot and Lowes Customer Service?

28 Jan in Full Reviews

In recent months I've noticed two things about Home Depot and Lowes in the Washington DC area. First, the stores are less crowded....no big surprises there.

The second is that Home Depot and Lowes Associates are at the front of every aisle at certain times of the day and are very eager to help customers. Perhaps we customers are in such short supply that we're valued more than we were before.

I'm wondering also if some of you just quit Home Depot or Lowes altogether because you got tired of the poor or spotty customer service. Are you shopping elsewhere and if so where? What would it take to get you back?

Finally, if you've noticed changes are you pleased with them or have things gotten worse. What stores are the best and worst in your area? Thanks for sharing.

HD and Lowe's

I agree with the ghost towns called Home Depot (HD) and Lowe's.

When HD first opened up (1970's), the associates were on you as soon as you entered the door. I myself, found it to be like annoying car salesman on red bull.

Of course after a couple years, the opposite occured, to the extreme. Associates were scarce, (due to cost cutting), and it was frustrating just getting the location of a particular item.

I found Lowe's had a better sense of customer service. they installed Page buttons when you needed help, (Nice).
HD has followed suit.

Now, just yesterday I was in there and things ha switched back, just like in the begining they are all over you.
I was asked 9 times if I needed help.

Sad to say, they do that due to no one is in the store, and nothing to do.
